In doing so, we come across products and suppliers that we commit to continued business with as we know and trust that the products they supply and install will provide us and our clients with the level of service and performance we know that we can rely for our own business.

Heat pump hot water systems (HWS) are easily the most economical method of generating hot water in a modern home. They have a coefficient of performance that means for 1 unit of energy input, you can expect anywhere from 3 to 5 units of output. This is great for cost saving, and even better when you combine it with your own onsite solar panels making if effectively free. The savings for a household to change from gas or standard electric can range from $1000-$3000 per year.

The below heat pumps are what we regard as the best options as far as cost vs performance for our customers. They are established brands with fantastic LOCAL warranty support. In the unlikely event that something isn't working right, these companies are Australian based and you can have confidence in their advertised warranties.

There are cheaper units, but they are not reliable. They may not last as long as they should, or the performance may be overstated or unreliable. The bigger risk is that if something goes wrong, many of these companies are unlikely to honour warranties as they are internationally manufactured and the companies selling these products only stay in business for 3-5 years to avoid their responsibilities.

There are better performing units, but the costs to gain that extra performance aren't justified (in our opinion). Unless you have a need for extremely high efficiency, these units just are not economical for a vast majority of consumers.
